Koneru Humpy is one of India’s most celebrated chess grandmasters, recognised for her remarkable achievements in both classical and rapid formats. She became the youngest woman ever to achieve the grandmaster title at 15 in 2002 and remains a dominant force in the chess world. Humpy’s career highlights include winning the 2019 World Rapid Chess Championship after a two-year maternity break and earning multiple medals at the World Championship and Olympiads.
